Welcome to the Renewable Energy Systems Lab, a research lab dedicated to finding sustainable solutions for energy production. Our lab is led by Dr. Sagnika Ghosh, a renowned expert in the field of smart and microgrids, electric vehicles, cybersecurity issues and solutions for power grids, 5G communication, and applications of AI/ML in electric power grid. We are committed to researching and developing innovative technologies that will shape the future of energy.

Dr. Sagnika Ghosh

Dr. Sagnika Ghosh is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, and Director of the Renewable Energy Systems Laboratory (RESL). She received her MS (2013) and Ph.D., (2018) in Electrical Engineering from University of Memphis. Her research interests include smart and microgrids, electric vehicles, and cybersecurity issues and solutions for power grids, 5G communication, and applications of AI/ML in electric power grid. She has worked on several projects funded by ASEE, NSF, DOE, and EPRI. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on power, energy systems, etc. She enjoys mentoring and teaching enthusiastic students with over 6 years of teaching experience. She is actively working on developing relevant courses on application of AI/ML in power system studies. She is the Faculty Advisor for IEEE Chapter at TSU and actively works to recruit more students from marginalized and underrepresented communities. She also advocated for women in STEM. She is a Senior member of IEEE.
